The Fiji Football Association has launched an innovative initiative through a strategic partnership with International Football Consultancy, led by Ali McLae and Russ Gurr. This partnership aims to enhance the national team’s chances in upcoming FIFA World Cup tournaments by identifying and recruiting players of Fijian ancestry from around the globe.
Fiji FA Chief Executive Mohammed Yusuf expressed optimism about the initiative, stating, “We believe this initiative, together with our established FFA national academies, will speed up the development of top local talent while seamlessly integrating new overseas players into our teams.”
McLae and Gurr, both seasoned professionals in the field with extensive international networks, will play a vital role in spotting and recruiting these players. Yusuf added, “The combined efforts of local and international talent will foster a more competitive and dynamic environment for Fijian football.”
