The preseason player transfer window for the Fiji Football Association has officially opened, giving districts until January 31 to strengthen their teams for the upcoming season. Rohitesh Narayan, the Registration Manager for Fiji FA, emphasized that any player transferring to a new district is required to commit to their new team for a minimum of one year.
He also clarified that players who changed districts or clubs during last season’s mid-season transfer window are not eligible to apply for transfers this time around. Additionally, those under contract must fulfill their contractual obligations before switching teams.
In local team news, Tailevu Naitasiri is expected to face significant player losses following their relegation from last season, while newcomers Tavua are anticipated to enhance their roster with new talent and experience.
As the transfer window progresses, it’s a crucial period for teams to reassess and strategize, paving the way for potential growth and competitiveness in the new season. Supporters can look forward to exciting developments as teams reshape their squads for improved performances in the upcoming league games.
