The Fiji National Football Team has achieved a significant milestone by moving up to 146th place in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking. This new ranking positions them as the second-highest team in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), marking an important moment for both the team, known as the Bula Boys, and Fiji’s football community.

This ranking is the best for Fiji since 2011, reflecting the team’s growth and advancements over the years. The recent leap of four places was driven by Fiji’s win against the Solomon Islands in the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026, allowing them to surpass their regional competitors.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel expressed his happiness regarding the team’s ranking, crediting the progress to the hard work and commitment of the players, coaching staff, and the broader football community in Fiji. He highlighted the importance of dedication, strategic player development, coaching, and improving infrastructure, all of which have played a crucial role in the team’s achievements.

Patel emphasized the value of constructive criticism, noting that while it is essential for growth, it is also crucial to maintain unity and collective support as the team faces challenges. He acknowledged the passionate support of fans as a significant driving force behind the team’s efforts and expressed optimism about Fiji’s potential for greater success, both in the Oceania region and on the international stage.
