Fiji Football Team Gears Up for Thrilling International Friendlies

The Digicel Fiji Men’s National football team is gearing up for the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024, with their training camp currently in session at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

New talents Penisoni Tirau, the captain of the U-19 team, and defender Mohammad Aymaan have made their way into the 26-member squad following impressive performances at the OFC U-19 Men’s Championships earlier this year.

According to team manager Kartik Reddy, 24 players are presently at the camp, with an additional two expected to arrive shortly. Goalkeeper Jerome Narayan, based in Australia, is already with the team, while Samuela Kautoga from New Zealand is scheduled to join on Sunday, followed by captain Roy Krishna on September 3.

The final squad, comprising 23 players, will be revealed on August 30 before they make their way to Suva. Under the guidance of head coach Rob Sherman, the team is set to play against the Solomon Islands National team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, and the Hong Kong, China National team on September 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The complete 26-member squad includes Isikeli Sevanaia, Jerome Narayan, Akuila Mateisuva, Samuela Kautoga, Patrick Joesph, Sterling Vasconcellos, Atonio Tuivuna, Mosese Nabose, Filipe Baravilala, Ivan Kumar, Muni Shivam Naidu, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Thomas Dunn, Mohammed Raheem, Setareki Hughes, Aporosa Yasa, Nabil Begg, James Hoyt, Tevita Waranaivalu, Dave Radrigai, Sairusi Nalaubu, Etonia Dogalau, Roy Krishna, Mohammed Aymaan, Rahul Krishna, and Melvin Mani.
