This improvement follows their strong performances in the Tri-Nations series, where they achieved a victory over the Solomon Islands and secured a draw against Hong Kong. Under the guidance of Coach Rob Sherman, Fiji is now the third-highest ranked team in Oceania, trailing only New Zealand at 95th and the Solomon Islands at 144th. Additionally, Samoa has made notable strides, rising seven spots to 185th after their wins against Tonga and American Samoa during FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
