The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) is excited to announce the return of its prestigious Awards Night after a three-year break, featuring 14 significant awards that will recognize excellence in the sport. This year, the event will be supported by a new sponsor, Extra Supermarket, which aims to elevate the celebration, making it grander and more engaging than ever before.
Fiji FA’s chief executive, Mohammed Yusuf, emphasized the event’s importance in uniting the football community and celebrating the efforts of dedicated players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers throughout Fiji. He has encouraged all 20 affiliated clubs to submit nominations to ensure their members’ hard work and contributions are acknowledged.
Yusuf highlighted the expanded range of awards this year, which includes categories such as Male and Female Footballer of the Year, Young Male and Female Footballer of the Year, and others recognizing referees, volunteers, and administrators. This year’s awards are aimed at honoring a broader spectrum of contributions in both football and futsal, acknowledging the vital roles played by many in developing the sport.
The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night is set to take place on December 1 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nadi. The event not only promises recognition for the outstanding talent in Fiji’s football landscape, but also a renewed spirit of community and cooperation among clubs and players.
With the return of this celebrated event, there is a hopeful outlook for the future of Fiji football, as an emphasis on recognition and celebration motivates participants at all levels of the sport. It serves as a reminder that dedication and hard work within the community will not go unnoticed and will be celebrated in style.
