The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) Awards Night is set to make a highly anticipated comeback after a three-year break. This year, there are 14 prestigious awards available, thanks to the support of new sponsor Extra Supermarket. Their involvement promises to enhance the quality and experience of the event.

Fiji FA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Yusuf, emphasized the significance of the awards night in bringing together the football community and recognizing the hard work of individuals and teams involved in the sport. “The awards night is to bring the football fraternity together after a three-year hiatus to acknowledge the achievements and dedication of the clubs,” Yusuf stated.

This year’s event will celebrate the vital contributions of players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers from across Fiji’s football landscape. Yusuf urged all 20 Fiji FA-affiliated clubs to actively participate by nominating individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and effort. “We encourage clubs to ensure their stars shine at the awards night,” he added.

Notably, this year’s Awards Night will introduce several new categories to appreciate the varied contributions within Fiji’s football community. The awards include Male and Female Footballer of the Year, Young Male and Female Footballer of the Year, Male and Female Futsal Player of the Year, Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year.

The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night 2024 is scheduled to take place on December 1 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nadi.

In summary, this event not only serves as a platform to recognize talent within the football community but also aims to strengthen connections among clubs and individuals, fostering a sense of unity and celebration. With the support of sponsors like Extra Supermarket, the event promises to be a memorable occasion.

This return of the awards night is a hopeful sign for the future of football in Fiji, providing motivation and inspiration for players and supporters alike.
