One of the most significant developments is a $2.3 million project for the Labasa Academy Ground, which Fiji FA signed with Heritage Fiji Limited. The initiative, funded by the FIFA Forward programme, is set to greatly enhance training and playing facilities for local players in the Northern Division. President Rajesh Patel expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting that it represents a vital step forward in football development. The work is scheduled to begin in August and is expected to provide high-quality facilities for coaches and aspiring athletes.
In addition to the ground development, Fiji FA has renewed its sponsorship with Mobil Oil (Fiji), a partnership that helps alleviate travel costs for their teams. Patel acknowledged this continued support, emphasizing that it allows the association to focus more on developing football rather than managing operational expenses. James Marryatt, CEO of Petro Oceania Energy Pte Ltd, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Fiji FA’s mission to promote football from grassroots to international levels.
Moreover, Fiji FA has secured a five-year sponsorship deal with Janty Kanvan Pte Limited, making them the official title sponsor for the Fiji FACT tournament. This partnership, endorsed by Patel and Janty Kanvan’s General Manager Jigar Khatri, aims to elevate the prestigious tournament even further, underscoring their commitment to fostering local talent and community engagement through sports.
