The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has secured a significant sponsorship deal with Flour Mills of Fiji (FMF) for the upcoming Inter-District Championship. The partnership was officially agreed upon in the FMF chairman’s boardroom at Walu Bay, Suva, and is set to last five years.
The details of the sponsorship have been agreed to be kept confidential. According to Jimi Taniela, FMF Group operations manager, the collaboration aims to support the players, providing them with resources and opportunities they need to perform excellently.
Rajesh Patel, Fiji FA President, highlighted that FMF’s support had come at an opportune moment. “The next five years promise significant growth where the FMF IDC will become a household name, and both football and your brand will benefit,” Patel stated.
The most significant tournament in Fiji FA’s calendar, the 2024 FMF IDC, plans to feature 20 districts competing across senior, premier, and super premier divisions. The super premier division winner will take home $25,000, with the runner-up securing $6,000. The tournament is set to take place at Churchill Park in Lautoka from October 15-20.
