Fiji Football Association (FFA) Chief Executive Mohammed Yusuf has issued a strong reminder to district officials regarding the importance of adhering to proper governance procedures when addressing grievances. He emphasized that taking disputes to social media undermines the integrity of the FFA and diverts from established constitutional processes designed to resolve such issues.
Yusuf stated, “Any issues should not be taken to social media to resolve disputes. There is ample provision in our statutes to dispute decisions, and they need to use that.” He reiterated that the FFA is committed to maintaining transparency and responsiveness, even in the face of online misinformation.
Furthermore, Yusuf pointed out that social media lacks the authority to adjudicate issues and highlighted ongoing legal actions, including defamation cases against individuals, as evidence of the organization’s commitment to protecting its reputation.
Yusuf’s comments underline the FFA’s dedication to ensuring that football governance in Fiji remains ethical and well-managed, reinforcing the notion that constructive communication through proper channels is vital for the integrity of the sport.
