The Fiji Football Association is excited to announce the return of its Awards Night, a highly awaited event following a three-year break. For the 2024 edition, there will be 14 esteemed awards, backed by new sponsor Extra Supermarket, promising to enhance the occasion significantly.
Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf emphasized the importance of this event in fostering unity within the football community. “The awards night serves as a platform to bring together the football fraternity after a prolonged absence, recognizing the hard work and dedication of various clubs,” he stated. This year’s ceremony will celebrate the outstanding efforts of players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers who have made significant contributions to football in Fiji.
Yusuf encouraged all 20 affiliated clubs to nominate deserving members, ensuring that their achievements don’t go unnoticed. “We urge clubs to participate actively and highlight the dedication of their players, coaches, and volunteers so that all can shine at the awards night,” he added.
Among the exciting changes this year are several new award categories aimed at honoring the diverse talents in Fiji’s football scene. Awards to be presented include: Male and Female Footballer of the Year, Male and Female Young Footballer of the Year, Male and Female Futsal Player of the Year, Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year.
The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night is scheduled to take place on December 1 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nadi, marking a celebratory return to recognize the hard work of individuals in the sport.
This event not only highlights individual talents but also creates an inclusive environment to celebrate the collective efforts of the football community in Fiji.
