Fiji Flying Fijians Soar to Ninth in World Rugby Rankings!

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians have ascended to ninth place in the World Rugby rankings following their 41-17 triumph over Japan in the final of the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup. This notable advancement comes after a thrilling series of test matches that engaged fans worldwide.

Fiji topped Pool A in the tournament after victories against strong opponents such as Samoa in Suva and Tonga in Nuku’alofa. Their semifinal match against the USA was tough, but the Flying Fijians displayed remarkable grit, breaking away in the closing moments to secure their place in the championship match against Japan.

Coached by Mick Byrne, the Fijians emphasized nurturing emerging talent in their approach. Japan, led by renowned coach Eddie Jones, had also made significant progress in the tournament but could not overcome the determined Fijian team.

With Fiji’s rise in the rankings, Australia has slipped to 10th place for the first time. Argentina now holds the 6th position, while South Africa ranks 2nd, leaving Ireland at the top of the table.
