The FIJI Water Flying Fijians have ascended to 9th place in the World Rugby rankings after their remarkable victory over Japan in the Pacific Nations Cup final. Head coach Mick Byrne highlighted the significance of the tournament in nurturing the future talent of Fijian rugby.

“It’s a great opportunity for us in the PNC to select a good bunch of young players,” Byrne stated. He recognized the vital contributions of seasoned players during last year’s World Cup while suggesting potential changes ahead.

“Over the next few years, some of those players will be replaced, and the sooner we can get the younger ones into the test arena, the better it is for the future of the team and for Fiji Rugby,” he added.

This triumph not only reinforces Fiji’s capabilities but also showcases the bright futures of numerous squad members who are in the early phases of their professional rugby careers.
