Fiji Flying Fijians Soar to 9th in World Rugby Rankings After Huge Win!

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians have ascended to ninth position in the World Rugby rankings following their 41-17 triumph over Japan in the final of the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup.

This significant change comes in the wake of several thrilling test matches that engaged fans worldwide across different time zones.

Fiji entered the knockout round as Pool A leaders after defeating strong competitors such as Samoa in Suva and Tonga in Nuku’alofa.

Their semifinal match against the USA was tough, but the Flying Fijians demonstrated their determination, pulling ahead in the closing moments to earn a place in the championship match against the host nation.

Japan, guided by the renowned coach Eddie Jones, also made notable progress in the tournament.

Unfortunately, they could not overcome a tenacious Fijian team, led by coach Mick Byrne, who highlighted the significance of nurturing young talent for the future.

Fiji’s advancement has pushed Australia down to the 10th position for the first time, with Argentina moving up to 6th. South Africa now holds the 2nd spot, while Ireland remains at the top of the rankings.
