The FIJI Water Flying Fijians have ascended to 9th place in the World Rugby rankings after a remarkable victory over Japan in the Pacific Nations Cup final.
Head coach Mick Byrne highlighted the significance of the tournament in nurturing the next generation of Fijian rugby talent.
“It’s a great opportunity for us in the PNC to select a good bunch of young players,” Byrne stated.
He also recognized the roles played by senior players during last year’s World Cup and hinted at forthcoming changes in the team.
“Over the next few years, some of those players will be replaced, and the sooner we can get the younger ones into the test arena, the better it is for the future of the team and for Fiji Rugby.”
The win not only reinforces Fiji’s potential but also showcases the exciting careers of many squad members who are still in the early phases of their professional rugby journeys.
