Mick Byrne, head coach of the Fiji Water Flying Fijians, has announced a formidable Match 23 lineup ahead of their second Test against Wales on Monday morning (Fiji time). During a Zoom conference, Byrne expressed confidence in his team’s mental readiness for the upcoming match.
He welcomed the return of experienced players, noting that their presence serves as a significant boost for the team. “The game against Scotland is behind us; we’ve learned from it and are eager for the challenge ahead,” he remarked.
Byrne’s strategic selection includes a strong backline that features notable players like Semi Radradra, Josua Tuisova, Waisea Nayacalevu, and Jiuta Wainiqolo. He emphasized that the experience these players bring, coupled with the youthful energy of first-five Caleb Muntz, will pose a significant threat to the opposing side.
“The atmosphere within the team is very positive. The players are excited and ready for what we believe will be a compelling matchup,” Byrne stated. Wales will be seeking a victory to break their winless streak, but Byrne is optimistic that his squad has the capabilities to upset their plans. The match is set to start at 1:40 AM and will be broadcast live on Sky Pacific.
