Flooding occurred in parts of the Central Division last night after experiencing significant rainfall. Lami and Nabua were among the areas hardest hit, with reports indicating that water entered homes in the Nabua Muslim League settlement.

The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi has issued a heavy rain alert that remains in effect for the entire Fiji Group. A trough of low pressure, accompanied by clouds and rainfall, continues to impact the region, exacerbating the already challenging weather conditions.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and monitor updates from local authorities as they navigate the aftermath of the flooding. While the situation poses challenges, it also presents an opportunity for community resilience and support in the face of adverse weather events.
