The Student Designer Show has undergone a transformation and will now be known as the Fiji Fashion Week Student Designer Show Presented by FIJI Water, thanks to a new three-year sponsorship agreement. This partnership was confirmed by Fiji Fashion Week general manager Joan Kamikamica-Smith, who highlighted the importance of the show in showcasing emerging talent from secondary schools across Fiji.

“This rebranding signifies a significant milestone for us,” said Ms. Kamikamica-Smith. The Student Designer Show has long been a foundational part of Fiji Fashion Week, providing a crucial platform for young creative professionals to gain exposure, mentorship, and the chance to showcase their collections on one of the most esteemed fashion stages in the region.

The three-year partnership is seen as an exciting new chapter, focusing on excellence, creativity, sustainability, and youth empowerment. “We are thrilled to have FIJI Water as a sponsor, as our branding objectives align perfectly,” Ms. Kamikamica-Smith added. “Both Fiji Fashion Week and FIJI Water are committed to celebrating world-class standards while representing Fiji on an international scale.”

The sponsorship aims to enhance arts development at the high school level, offering young creatives opportunities to refine their talent, build confidence, and foster innovation. Geoffrey Smith, director of external affairs at FIJI Water, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for supporting emerging designers. “We are proud to sponsor Fiji Fashion Week and to champion the talented student designers who contribute to the vibrant future of Fiji’s fashion industry.”

The Fiji Fashion Week Student Designer Show Presented by FIJI Water is set to take place on Saturday, May 30, at the Vodafone Arena in Suva. This collaboration promises not only to uplift the spirits of the young designers but also to enrich Fiji’s cultural landscape, fostering a new generation of creative talents.
