This Saturday, the Vatuwaqa in Suva will host the highly anticipated pool draws for the 2025 BiC Fiji FACT competition, marking an important event in the local football calendar. Following the recent round of the Extra Premier League, where crucial matches determined the qualification of teams, the pool draws will assign the top eight teams into their respective pools ahead of the tournament, set to take place at the end of this month.
Among the teams that will be participating in Fiji FACT, Lautoka secured its place with a notable 4-2 victory over Suva, thereby finishing in eighth place with nine points. Suva also qualified, clinching seventh place on the Premier League table with the same points. Notable performances were seen from Rewa, as they bounced back from a prior setback to qualify with a 2-1 win over Ba and an emphatic 8-0 defeat of Nasinu. Rewa ended the season in second place with 16 points, just behind Labasa, who topped the table after a solid 3-0 win against Nadroga.
On the contrary, the competition saw the elimination of Tavua and Nasinu, which finished in ninth and tenth place following disappointing defeats in the final matches. Tavua was unable to escape its last place finish despite its efforts, while Nasinu faced a staggering 8-0 loss to Rewa.
Furthermore, Nadi and Navua also secured their spots with strong performances; Nadi triumphed over Navua with a 5-2 victory in a match that underscored their competitive spirit.
As the Extra Premier League moves forward, next week’s round promises exciting matchups including Rewa facing Tavua and Labasa meeting Nasinu, which will undoubtedly keep fans engaged and hopeful for their teams.
