Fiji endured a significant defeat, losing 9-1 to New Zealand in their third match of the OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup held in the Solomon Islands.
After achieving two convincing victories against Tahiti and Tonga, Fiji, coached by Jerry Sam, faced a more formidable and confident New Zealand side, falling behind 5-0 by halftime.
Koleta Likuculacula managed to score Fiji’s only goal in the second half, bringing her total to four goals in three matches.
Following this match, Fiji will take a break to aid in their recovery, while New Zealand is set to play against the Solomon Islands on Thursday.
