A severe thunderstorm warning accompanied by heavy rainfall has been announced for the Tailevu North, interior Naitasiri, and interior Ra regions, starting at 6:00 AM today. The Fiji Meteorological Service is advising residents to avoid flooded creeks and drains and to refrain from walking, biking, or driving through floodwaters.

To ensure safety during this weather event, the Fiji Met has recommended that individuals unplug all computers and appliances. Moreover, residents in the affected areas are urged to remain indoors, stay away from windows, and keep children and pets inside.

It is essential for communities to take these precautions seriously to safeguard lives and property during severe weather conditions. Staying informed and prepared can significantly reduce the risks associated with such storms.

In this challenging situation, it’s important to remember that storms eventually pass, paving the way for clearer skies and renewed hope in the community’s resilience.
