Fiji Faces Heavy Rain as Potential Cyclone Approaches

A Topical Disturbance designated as TD 01F is currently contributing to heavy rainfall across the Fiji Group, with predictions indicating that this weather pattern will persist until tomorrow. The Fiji Meteorological Service reports that TD 01F was situated approximately 240 kilometers west of Yasawa-i-rara and 270 kilometers west-northwest of Nadi as of midday. The system is steadily moving southeast at a speed of around 20 kilometers per hour.

In light of these developments, a heavy rain warning is in effect for the entire Fiji group. Additionally, a strong wind warning has been issued for the coastal areas in the western and northern parts of Viti Levu, which includes regions from Sigatoka to Nadi, Lautoka, Ba through Tavua to Rakiraki, as well as the interiors of Ba, Ra, and Nadroga/Navosa.
