The Fiji Meteorological Services has released a special weather bulletin concerning potential heavy rainfall across the Central and Eastern divisions, as well as in Southern Bua and Cakaudrove province. This weather condition is attributed to a slow-moving trough of low pressure affecting the Fiji region.

Rainfall and overcast conditions are anticipated to impact the country through Thursday. Additionally, a shallow Tropical Disturbance (TDO3F) is currently moving southeast, away from Fiji.

The National Disaster Risk Management Office has reported instances of flash flooding in certain areas of the Central Division and has advised the public to avoid crossing or swimming in flooded zones where water levels exceed the knee. This weather situation could lead to traffic disruptions, urging drivers to proceed with care.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated on road conditions by following the Fiji Roads Authority’s Facebook page or Viber community. The NDRMO also recommends that the public keep themselves informed about weather developments via the Fiji Meteorological Services, which serves as the authoritative source for weather-related information in Fiji. The NDRMO and FMS will continuously monitor the evolving situation and provide advisories as needed.

In summary, while adverse weather conditions are currently affecting Fiji, officials are working diligently to keep the public informed and safe, showcasing a commitment to community resilience in facing unpredictable weather patterns.
