A heavy rain warning has been issued for the Fiji group as an active trough of low pressure approaches from the North. According to the Nadi Weather Office, the region is expected to experience occasional heavy rain and thunderstorms, with the most intense conditions anticipated in the northern areas. These severe weather conditions are expected to spread across Fiji by tomorrow.

The Nadi Weather Office has also cautioned that localized heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding, particularly in low-lying regions. Furthermore, isolated thunderstorms are predicted in the southern and interior areas of Viti Levu, affecting locations such as Sigatoka, interior Nadroga-Navosa, Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Naitasiri, southern Bua, and Cakaudrove during the afternoon or evening.

It is advisable for residents and visitors in Fiji to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period of adverse weather.

Overall, while heavy rain can cause challenges, it also nourishes the land, supporting agriculture and replenishing water sources. Communities can come together to prepare for the rain, showing resilience in the face of nature’s unpredictabilities.
