Fiji endured a significant defeat, losing 9-1 to New Zealand in their third match at the OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup in the Solomon Islands.

After securing two convincing victories against Tahiti and Tonga, the team coached by Jerry Sam faced a formidable challenge from a more skilled and confident New Zealand side, falling behind 5-0 by halftime.

Fiji’s only goal came from Koleta Likuculacula in the second half, bringing her personal tally to four goals across the tournament.

Following this match, Fiji will have a break to recuperate, while New Zealand is set to compete against the host nation, Solomon Islands, on Thursday.
