Fiji experienced a significant setback in the OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup, suffering a 9-1 defeat to New Zealand in their third match held in the Solomon Islands.

Following two solid victories against Tahiti and Tonga, the team coached by Jerry Sam faced a stronger and more confident New Zealand side, falling behind 5-0 by halftime. Koleta Likuculacula managed to score Fiji’s only goal in the second half, bringing her total to four goals across three matches.

Fiji will take a break to aid their recovery, while New Zealand is set to play against the host team, the Solomon Islands, on Thursday.
