The Fiji National Disaster Risk Management Office has reported that as of this morning, 345 residents are currently staying in evacuation centers due to ongoing emergency conditions. There are eight operational evacuation centers accommodating a total of 79 households.
The distribution of the evacuees across the centers is as follows:
1) Andrews Primary, Nadi – 180 evacuees
2) Saioni Church, Nadi – 35 evacuees
3) Korovuto Secondary School, Nadi – 14 evacuees
4) Vou Dance Group Office, Nadi – 7 evacuees
5) Tavua District Primary School, Tavua – 9 evacuees
6) Nadele Community Hall, Nadroga – 69 evacuees
7) Nasolo Community Hall, Ba – 22 evacuees
8) Lovu Sangam School, Lautoka – 9 evacuees
In response to the situation, the Western Divisional Emergency Operations Centre and the National Emergency Operations Centre are partnering to provide essential supplies for those in the evacuation centers, adhering to established policies and regulations. The NEOC is actively monitoring the circumstances alongside the Divisional EOCs, ready to address requests for assistance in the ongoing response efforts.
