Fiji experienced a significant defeat, losing 9-1 to New Zealand in their third match of the OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup held in the Solomon Islands today. The match presented a challenging test for Fiji after their earlier victories over Tahiti and Tonga. Coached by Jerry Sam, the team fell behind 5-0 by halftime against a dominant New Zealand side.

Koleta Likuculacula scored Fiji’s only goal in the second half, marking her fourth goal in three matches. Following this match, Fiji will take a break to recover, while New Zealand is set to face the host nation, the Solomon Islands, on Thursday.
