Fiji faced a significant setback, suffering a 9-1 defeat to New Zealand in their third match of the OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup in the Solomon Islands. After securing two impressive victories against Tahiti and Tonga, the team, coached by Jerry Sam, encountered a much stronger and more confident opponent. They found themselves trailing 5-0 at halftime.

Koleta Likuculacula managed to score Fiji’s only goal in the second half, bringing her total to four goals over three matches. Following this match, Fiji will enjoy a bye to recuperate, while New Zealand prepares to take on the hosts, the Solomon Islands, on Thursday.
