Fiji FA Makes Education Dreams Possible for Former Players’ Kids

The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has reaffirmed its dedication to assisting the families of former players by offering financial support for their children’s education. During the award presentation for the RC Manubhai/Apco Coatings Veterans Tournament at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Sunday, the organization distributed $500 cheques to former national players Semi Tabaiwalu, Kini Tubi, and Hendry Dyer.

This initiative is part of Fiji FA’s social responsibility efforts to recognize the contributions of past players and provide support to their families. Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel stressed the importance of remembering the significant efforts of former players, asserting that the organization is committed to ensuring their legacy is acknowledged and cherished.

The financial assistance is sourced from the proceeds of the RC Manubhai/APCO Coatings International Veteran’s tournament, which is aimed at funding the education of the children of former players. Patel noted that this initiative is designed to support four families annually, with the potential to expand assistance in the future based on the tournament’s revenues.

Families selected for support are chosen by the trustees of the Veteran’s Committee, ensuring a fair and thoughtful approach to the process.
