The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has introduced grassroots goalkeeper training programs at its academies in Ba, Labasa, and Suva, aimed at fostering the next generation of football talent. In Ba, the training sessions will be led by Sanaila Waqanicakau, Fiji’s national goalkeeper coach, whose extensive experience in high-level football is expected to significantly enhance the learning experience for participants. Shamal Kumar, a former national goalkeeper with a profound understanding of the game, will oversee the program at the Labasa Academy, where his insights are anticipated to inspire local talent.
