The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) is excited to announce the return of its Awards Night after a three-year break, creating a sense of anticipation among fans and participants alike. This year, the event is set to feature 14 prestigious awards, bolstered by a new partnership with Extra Supermarket, which aims to enhance the celebration of football in Fiji.
Fiji FA’s chief executive officer, Mohammed Yusuf, emphasized the significance of this event in bringing the football community together and recognizing the hard work and achievements of individuals and teams. He noted, “The awards night is to bring the football fraternity together after a three-year hiatus to acknowledge the achievements and dedication of the clubs.”
The upcoming awards night will celebrate the remarkable contributions of players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers throughout Fiji’s football landscape. Yusuf encouraged all 20 Fiji FA-affiliated clubs to submit nominations for their dedicated members, stating, “We urge all clubs to send in their nominations for the hard work of their players, coaches, officials, and volunteers. We encourage clubs to participate and ensure their stars shine at the awards night.”
Additionally, Yusuf confirmed that this year’s event will introduce new categories to reflect the diverse contributions within Fiji’s football community. Awards will include categories such as Male and Female Footballer of the Year, Young Footballer of the Year (both Male and Female), Futsal Player of the Year, Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year.
The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night 2024 is scheduled for December 1 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nadi, promising a memorable evening celebrating the sport’s vibrant community.
This return of the Fiji FA Awards Night not only marks the reconnection of the football community after a prolonged absence but also highlights the importance of honoring those who contribute tirelessly to the sport. As Fiji continues to embrace and develop its football culture, events like this foster unity and motivation for future achievements.
