The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) Awards Night is set to return after a three-year hiatus, generating excitement among fans and players alike. With 14 prestigious awards on the line and the support of new sponsor Extra Supermarket, this year’s event aims to be larger and more engaging than before.

Fiji FA’s chief executive officer, Mohammed Yusuf, emphasized the event’s significance for uniting the football community and recognizing the dedication of individuals and teams in the sport. “The awards night is designed to bring the football fraternity together after a three-year absence to celebrate the accomplishments and commitment of the clubs,” Yusuf stated.

This year’s ceremony will recognize outstanding contributions from players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers in Fiji’s football landscape. Yusuf has encouraged all 20 affiliated clubs to submit nominations to ensure that the hard work of their members is duly acknowledged. “We urge all clubs to highlight their players, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Participation is key to making sure that our stars shine on this special night,” he added.

New categories have been introduced to celebrate the diverse contributions within the football community. The awards include Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Young Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Futsal Player of the Year (Male/Female), Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year.

The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night 2024 will take place on December 1 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nadi, promising a night of celebration for the entire football community.

Overall, the revival of the Fiji FA Awards Night not only honors the dedication of individuals within the sport, but also fosters a sense of community and shared pride among players, clubs, and supporters. This renewed focus on recognition may inspire even greater participation and dedication in Fiji’s football scene moving forward.
