The America Fiji Sports Commission has made a significant contribution of $5,000 to WOWS Kids Fiji, a charitable organization dedicated to helping children affected by cancer. Commission President Narend Narayan, a passionate advocate for children’s welfare, reaffirmed his commitment to uplifting the lives of those in need.
During a recent event marking the conclusion of the 2024 Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup in Lautoka, Narayan, alongside Vice President Vinay Nair and fellow board members, presented the donation to Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel. The gesture was warmly received, with Patel expressing heartfelt gratitude for the ongoing support.
Patel emphasized the broader impact of the donation, stating, “Their support extends beyond football, touching the lives of those in need and showcasing the true spirit of this tournament.” He also announced that the Fiji Football Association (FA) would continue to contribute to WOWS Kids by donating a portion of ticket sales. Specifically, one dollar from each ticket sold during the four-day Pacific Community Cup will go towards this vital cause.
The Fiji FA’s commitment is evident, having already donated over $60,000 as part of its social responsibility initiatives, demonstrating their determination to create positive change in the community.
This collaboration between sports organizations and charitable trusts highlights the capacity of sports events to generate meaningful support for important causes, significantly impacting the lives of vulnerable children. It’s a reminder that the spirit of community and philanthropy is alive and well, promising a better tomorrow for those in need.
