Fiji Explores Cutting-Edge Fertilizers to Revolutionize Sugar Production

Fiji may soon utilize innovative nanomaterials and nanotechnology fertilizers from China, pending the success of ongoing trials, according to Sugar Industry Minister Charan Jeath Singh. The minister recently met with officials from Shenzhen King Quenson Industry Company Limited at the Sugar Research Institute of Fiji in Lautoka to discuss potential fertilizers that could enhance sugar and agricultural production in the country.

Minister Singh emphasized that these new fertilizers will undergo extensive testing at the Sugar Research Institute to evaluate their effectiveness. He stated that this initiative represents a serious effort to boost the industry’s output and sustainability.

Shenzhen King Quenson Industry Company Limited is recognized as a leading agrochemical manufacturer in China. The CEO of the institute, Vinesh Kumar, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting that this innovative approach involving nanomaterials and nanotechnology could provide comprehensive solutions for agriculture.

The current fertilizer trials are taking place in a low-production field in Rakiraki. Kumar indicated that sufficient data will be collected in the coming months to validate the quality and effectiveness of the fertilizers proposed by Shenzhen King Quenson Industry.
