Members of the Electoral Commission of Fiji have officially presented their Annual Reports for 2023 and 2024 to the President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, during a recent courtesy visit at State House.
The reports detail the Commission’s operational activities, strategic priorities, financial performance, and ongoing efforts aimed at improving Fiji’s electoral framework over the past two years. Commissioners Inoke Loganimoce, Susana Naisara, and Reginald Jokhan submitted the documents while conveying apologies from the Chairperson and other absent members. They also provided an overview of notable achievements and challenges faced in the execution of their constitutional duties.
President Lalabalavu praised the Commission for its hard work and professionalism, highlighting the importance of timely reporting. He emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in managing public funds, asserting that such practices are crucial for maintaining public trust. Furthermore, the President reminded attendees that robust governance and oversight are essential for ensuring the credibility and integrity of Fiji’s electoral system, thereby reinforcing the Commission’s pivotal role in safeguarding democratic processes.
