The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced that it is currently processing payments for unpaid acting allowances for employees of the Ministry of Education. PSC chairman Luke Rokovada acknowledged that a number of staff, including drivers, have not received overtime payments since August 2025.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed receiving complaints from affected employees regarding the unpaid dues and has referred the issue to the Ministry of Education for prompt resolution.

In response to the ongoing situation, Paula Manumanunitoga, general secretary of the Fijian Teachers Association, indicated that the union would hold discussions with Education Minister Aseri Radrodro to address the matter. Manumanunitoga mentioned that Minister Radrodro has assured them that the payments would be forthcoming, urging union members to be patient while the issue is being resolved.

This collaborative approach between the PSC, the Prime Minister, and the Education Ministry demonstrates a commitment to rectify the payment delays, providing hope for a resolution that supports the hard-working employees within the Ministry.
