The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, inaugurated the Sangam Heads of School and Management Seminar today, uniting education leaders, management boards, and representatives from the Then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam. This collaborative effort aims to strengthen the ties between schools and their communities.
In his speech, Minister Radrodro praised the TISI Executive Committee for organizing the seminar, asserting that it serves as a crucial platform for empowering education stakeholders and promoting teamwork across Fiji’s educational landscape. The theme of the event, “Shaping the Future: Strengthening School–Community Partnership,” underscored the significant responsibilities of Heads of Schools, Management Boards, and teachers in fostering academic excellence and enhancing student welfare.
The Minister reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to collaboration and support, noting the essential roles played by District and Divisional Education Officers in facilitating effective communication and the implementation of educational initiatives. He emphasized the need for Heads of Schools to inspire their staff and students, while consistently monitoring performance metrics for both teachers and students.
Critical as well was his highlight of the appropriate use of the Fiji Education Management Information System (FEMIS) alongside robust community partnerships to ensure schools flourish. He expressed hope that the seminar would enhance cooperation among educational leaders, wishing success to all participants in their endeavors to promote education and create a productive academic year.
