The Fiji National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO) has announced the lifting of movement restrictions in the Western Division. In today’s update, the NDRMO reported that there are currently eight active evacuation centers (ECs) housing 79 households and 350 evacuees in this region.
Today, essential rations were delivered to the households residing in these centers. Additionally, the Ministry of Health is actively visiting each evacuation center to provide necessary medical support.
Various organizations have stepped up to assist those affected in the centers:
– Freezco and the Red Cross have donated 100 bottles of water and four hygiene kits to the four evacuation centers in Nadi.
– The Hare Rama Hare Krishna team has been distributing food to evacuees located in the Korovuto evacuation center.
– Empower Pacific is offering psychosocial support to evacuees in the centers in Nadi.
