Fiji achieved its second consecutive victory in the OFC Futsal Women’s Nations Cup held in the Solomon Islands, defeating Tonga 4-0.
After a successful opening match where Fiji won 2-1 against Tahiti, the team, coached by Jerry Sam, made an impressive start by scoring just ten seconds into the game. Sofi Diyalowai capitalized on a mistake by the Tongan defense and confidently shot past goalkeeper Kalolaine Topui.
Tonga managed to hold off further goals until halftime.
In the second half, Fiji’s offense intensified, and they added three more goals courtesy of Diyalowai, Koleta Likuculacula, and Captain Unaisi Tuberi.
Both teams will have a day off before Fiji takes on New Zealand, while Tonga contests with the Solomon Islands.
