Fiji achieved its second consecutive victory in the OFC Futsal Women’s Nations Cup held in the Solomon Islands, defeating Tonga 4-0.
In their opening match, Fiji secured a 2-1 win against Tahiti. The team, led by coach Jerry Sam, made a quick impact in their second game, scoring within the first ten seconds. Sofi Diyalowai capitalized on an error from the Tongan defense, confidently slotting the ball past goalkeeper Kalolaine Topui.
Tonga managed to hold the score at 1-0 until halftime. However, Fiji came out strong in the second half, adding three more goals to their tally with contributions from Diyalowai, Koleta Likuculacula, and Captain Unaisi Tuberi.
After this match, both teams will take a brief pause before Fiji prepares to compete against New Zealand, while Tonga will face the Solomon Islands.
