Fiji secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Papua New Guinea, thanks to a stellar performance from Tailevu Naitasiri striker France Catarogo, who netted three goals. This triumph allowed Fiji to clinch third place at the OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup held in Honiara.

In their earlier clash, Fiji faced Papua New Guinea in a thrilling opening match, which ended in an 8-2 loss for Fiji. At that time, Fiji was missing key players, including captain Tevita Waranaivalu and first-choice starter Madhwan Gounder, who were delayed in arriving.

In the decisive match, Northland Tailevu’s Steven Dean initiated Fiji’s scoring spree in the 8th minute, with Catarogo extending the lead just eight minutes later. Catarogo then struck again in the 22nd and 34th minutes to complete his hat trick and secure the victory for Fiji.
