Fiji secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Papua New Guinea, with France Catarogo scoring three goals, to claim third place at the OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup held in Honiara.

The two teams had faced each other in an exciting tournament opener, where Papua New Guinea won 8-2, marking their first-ever international Beach Soccer match. Fiji’s squad was missing captain Tevita Waranaivalu and key player Madhwan Gounder during that match due to late arrivals.

In the final match, Northland Tailevu’s Steven Dean put Fiji on the scoreboard in the 8th minute. France Catarogo then extended the lead by scoring in the 16th minute, and he followed up with two more goals in the 22nd and 34th minutes to complete the win.
