Fiji triumphed with an impressive 61-7 victory over Nauru in their opening match of the Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship held in Honiara. The Fijian team showcased their dominance in the abbreviated format of the sport, scoring nine tries while conceding only one against their less experienced opponents.

The scoring efforts were led by Lasaro Bogisa, Mikaele Rabuli, Alipate Biu, Rokoua Rasaku, a pair of tries from Sakiusa Siqila, and a remarkable hat trick from Solomone Rauqe, who contributed significantly to the scoreboard along with eight successful conversions.

In addition to the men’s team, the Fijiana 7s team also made a powerful statement with a 47-0 victory against Vanuatu in their first match. Looking ahead, the Fiji 7s Development team is set to face Tuvalu later in the evening, while the Fijiana will compete against the host team, Solomon Islands.
