Defending champions Fiji started their journey in the 2024 FANCA Nations Muslim World Cup in Lautoka with a strong performance, securing a 2-0 victory against Australia. The team, guided by coach Mohammed Ashif Khan, showcased their talent with notable players such as goalkeeper Mohammed Alam and athletes Zibraaz Sahib, Abbu Zahid, Afraz Ali, William Valentine, Usman Omede, Ramzan Khan, and Nabil Begg. The goals for Fiji came in the first half from Suva’s Khan and Ba’s Begg.

On Day 1, in another Premier match, New Zealand also triumphed with a 2-0 win over the United States.

In the Masters Division, Fiji and New Zealand ended their match in a 1-1 stalemate, while Canada delivered a strong performance, defeating the USA 3-0.

In the Legends Division, the match between Australia and New Zealand finished in a goalless draw, whereas defending champions Canada showcased their dominance by outpacing Fiji with a 4-1 victory.
