Fiji’s Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua has made it clear that the country will not tolerate the presence of adult film stars. This statement follows the deportation of British porn star Tia Emma Billinger, also known as ‘Bonnie Blue’, along with Australian cameraman Annie Knight. The pair were removed from the Double Tree by Hilton in Nadi after it came to light that they intended to produce adult content for an OnlyFans site during their stay.
Minister Tikoduadua emphasized that the actions and intentions of these individuals violate Fijian laws, specifically mentioning Section 377 of the Crimes Act concerning trafficking in obscene publications. He expressed concern that such illegal activities are detrimental to the local community and culture. With their plans made public through social media, the government felt justified in taking immediate action to repatriate them.
The Minister acknowledged that identifying individuals involved in adult entertainment can be challenging due to the use of aliases, but he assured that the Immigration Department is focused on enforcing the law. He noted that the government is leveraging resources from international agencies like Interpol and the Australian Federal Police to monitor and prevent similar incidents.
This incident highlights Fiji’s commitment to maintaining cultural values and legal standards as it continues to be a popular destination for Australian school-leavers celebrating their graduation.
In a positive light, this stance reflects Fiji’s dedication to preserving its cultural integrity and prioritizing the welfare of its citizens. The country’s focus on enforcing laws against adult content is a step towards ensuring that tourism remains a respectful and family-friendly environment.
