The Minister for Justice and Acting Attorney General, Siromi Turaga, has announced a significant leadership transition within the Fiji Corrections Service. Effective December 8, 2025, Mr. Auta Moceisuva will take on the role of Acting Commissioner of Corrections. His appointment comes from President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, as part of a strategic move to ensure continuity within the organization.
Prior to this new role, Mr. Moceisuva served as the Deputy Commissioner, bringing valuable experience that is expected to aid in the smooth administration of the service. This change also comes with a note of appreciation for the outgoing Commissioner, Mr. Sevuloni Naucukidi, who is set to return to his previous position after effectively leading the team.
The Ministry has expressed gratitude to Mr. Naucukidi for his dedication and leadership throughout his tenure. In light of this transition, officers within the service are encouraged to uphold values of unity, professionalism, and cooperation, as these qualities are crucial for maintaining stability and effective operations within the organization.
This leadership change presents a promising opportunity for the Fiji Corrections Service to build on past achievements and work collaboratively towards its future goals, fostering an environment of teamwork and support among its members.
