Fiji Corrections Service appoints Acting Commissioner to lead reforms

The Ministry of Justice has announced a significant leadership change within the Fiji Corrections Service, appointing former Deputy Commissioner Auta Moceisuva as the Acting Commissioner of Corrections, effective December 8, 2025. The announcement was made public by Minister for Justice and Acting Attorney-General Siromi Turaga, who confirmed that President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu formalized this appointment.

Mr. Moceisuva, a seasoned corrections officer with extensive experience, steps into this crucial role at a pivotal moment for the organization. The Ministry stated that his promotion from Deputy Commissioner aims to ensure continuity and operational stability within the service. His leadership is anticipated to sustain momentum around key administrative and rehabilitation initiatives, which are vital for the effectiveness of the corrections system.

The Ministry also took a moment to recognize the contributions of outgoing Commissioner Sevuloni Naucukidi, who is returning to his previous position. Naucukidi was commended for his leadership and dedication during his time in office.
