The Ministry for Women, Children and Social Protection has denounced the violent act depicted in a recent video circulated on social media, leading to the arrest of a suspect by the Labasa Police. Acting Minister for Women, Jese Saukuru, emphasized that violence in any form is intolerable and should not be accepted in society.

Saukuru highlighted the detrimental effects of such acts on victims, noting that they inflict severe physical and emotional trauma and have lasting repercussions for children, families, and entire communities. He praised the prompt response and actions taken by the Fiji Police Force, particularly the Labasa Police, commending their dedication to enforcing the law and ensuring that those responsible for violence are brought to justice.

In light of this incident, Saukuru encouraged the public to practice patience, understanding, and kindness within their families, neighborhoods, and communities. This message of compassion is vital for fostering a supportive environment that can help mitigate the effects of violence and promote healing.
