Fiji Coach Reveals Key Factors in U-19 Championship Loss

Fiji Coach Marika Rodu identified lack of concentration and low confidence as crucial factors in their 3-0 defeat to the Solomon Islands in their second Group A match of the OFC U-19 Men’s Championship in Samoa today.

“Tough game. We conceded three goals which goes to show lack of concentration, just in terms of the confidence level, we were not there in the first half, we were kind of struggling and chasing the game,” Rodu stated.

“But at this level of competition, the boys need to learn that consistency is paramount,” he added.

Rodu is focused on boosting his team’s confidence for their final Group A match against Vanuatu in a bid to secure a spot in the semi-finals, especially since the Solomon Islands have already advanced.

The Fiji Junior Bula Boys will face Vanuatu at 11 am this Thursday.
